CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Judge Janis Graham Jack has entered an order remanding the vast majority of silica cases pending in MDL 1553 after determining that her court lacks subject matter jurisdiction over the claims. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).

Judge Jack's 249-page order, which was pointedly critical of the claims that have been pending before her for nearly two years, was released June 30 and remands all silica MDL cases transferred by the Judicial Panel of Multidistrict Litigation to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas before Dec. 5, …
