Aredia/Zometa Get Mass Tort Billing in N.J. as MRI Contrast Docket Sought




NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The N.J. Supreme Court has bestowed mass tort status on all claims arising from the use of Aredia and Zometa, transferring the cases to a single judge for coordinated discovery and trial proceedings. In Re: Zometa/Aredia Litigation, No. 278 (N.J. Super. Ct., Middlesex Cty.).

In a Jan. 22 order, Chief Justice Stuart Rabner ordered all claims in the state transferred from their counties of venue to Middlesex County Superior Court. Judge Jamie D. Happas has been assigned to oversee the docket activity, including all management and trial issues for the cases.
