Fosamax MDL Created; JPML Transfers and Consolidates 18 Actions to N.Y.

NEW YORK - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has created a Fosamax MDL, transferring and consolidating 18 actions to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. In re: Fosamax Products Liability Litigation. MDL No. 1789 (S.D. N.Y.).

The JPML created the Fosamax (alendronate sodium tablets) MDL on Aug. 16, transferring and consolidating to the Southern District of New York 14 cases in the Southern District of New York, two actions in the Eastern District of New York, and one case each in the Middle District of Florida and the Middle District of Tennessee.
