Wyeth Wins Philadelphia Diet Drug Trial

PHILAELPHIA - A Philadelphia jury recently found for Wyeth in the case of two women who sued the company for heart valve injuries they claimed were caused by Wyeth's Pondimin and Redux diet drugs. Townley v. Wyeth. No. 3094; Williams v. Wyeth. No. 3171. (Pa. Ct. Common Pleas, Philadelphia Cty.).

At the conclusion of plaintiffs Joyce Townley's and Pamela Williams' trial, which began March 15, the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas jurors voted "no" to the question, "Do you find that the AORTIC VALVE injury sustained by the Plaintiff was caused by the ingestion of Pondimin and/or Redux? [emphasis original]"
