Zoloft Suicide Case Referred to Mediation, Trial Delayed

TYLER, Texas - A Sept. 12 trial in an alleged Zoloft-induced suicide lawsuit was postponed indefinitely on Sept. 1 until after the parties have completed court-ordered mediation. Cartwright v. Pfizer Inc. No. 6:04-cv-292, (E.D. Texas).
Plaintiff Matthew D. Cartwright sued Pfizer on May 8, 2004, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Zoloft (sertraline), an antidepressant, was responsible for the May 30, 2002, suicide death of his wife, Bethany J. Cartwright.
