MIDLAND, Texas - A Texas jury recently found in favor of Wyeth in a woman's lawsuit against the manufacturer for injuries she allegedly suffered after taking the company's Pondomin diet drug. Geers v. Wyeth. No. 7:03-cv-00107 (W.D. Texas).

Judge Harry Hudsoeth of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas presided over Patricia Geers' case from Feb. 21 to March 1. Geers claimed she suffered heart valve injury from consuming Pondomin (fenfluramine hydrochloride) after using the drug from April 1996 to April 1997. Sources said Geers, 52, alleged moderate aortic regurgitation, which Wyeth's experts considered a 'mild' condition.
