COLUMBUS, Ohio — An Ohio federal judge has issued Daubert rulings in the second bellwether Davol/C.R. Bard hernia mesh action set for trial, ruling that plaintiffs may present expert testimony concerning the alleged propensity of the device’s materials to degrade once implanted.

In an Oct. 22 order, Judge Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio also allowed defendants to present expert testimony as to the overall safety and efficacy of the hernia mesh patch.
