Wyeth Responds to Allegations that Enbrel Caused Injury

COLUMBIA, S.C.-Wyeth, the company that aids in the promotion and marketing of Enbrel, has responded to claims filed by a woman who allegedly sustained injuries as a result of using the rheumatoid arthritis drug. Parker v. Amgen, Inc., et al., No. 02-CV-3286 (D.S.C.).
The drug company argues in a brief filed Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina that the manufacturing defendants cannot be found liable for damages because the drug was supplied with adequate warnings and the plaintiff's complaint failed to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.
