ST. LOUIS ¬– A Missouri woman who says a broken femoral component in a DePuy cementless hip device has left her with permanent injuries is suing the company for $300,000 in medical costs and an unspecified amount for ongoing pain and other damages.

Plaintiff Judith A. Redd filed her action Nov. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., the manufacturer of the AML Hip System, and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson.
