Plaintiffs Ask Federal Judicial Panel to Consolidate Tylenol Liver Toxicity Lawsuits

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs have filed a petition to consolidate nearly 30 federal lawsuits alleging that the makers of Tylenol concealed the risk of liver toxicity associated with the popular over-the-counter painkiller.

The motion to create a coordinated multidistrict litigation (MDL) docket for Tylenol injury claims against Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), McNeil-PPC Inc. and McNeil Consumer Healthcare was filed Jan. 17 with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict litigation. The plaintiffs request that 28 pending, and all future cases alleging similar injuries, be transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where 21 cases have already been …
