Pinnacle Hip Plaintiffs Ask DePuy for Documents From Surgeon ‘Kickback’ Investigation

DALLAS — The Pinnacle hip implant MDL plaintiffs’ steering committee has moved to compel DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. (NYSE: JNJ) to produce additional documents relating to a 2007 investigation into whether the company offered illegal payments to induce surgeons to use their products in implant procedures.

Plaintiffs in the Pinnacle multi-district proceeding submitted the motion Dec. 24 to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, saying that DePuy has improperly asserted that some of the materials sought by plaintiffs are not relevant.
