CHICAGO - An Illinois man has sued Zimmer Inc. after alleged defects in the company's NexGen Knee replacement system required the device to be removed when it began to loosen just a year after it was implanted. Carr v. Zimmer Inc., et al., No. 11-974 (N.D. Ill.).
Robert Carr filed his complaint Feb. 10 in U.S District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, claiming he was unaware of the defective nature in the Zimmer knee replacement until his doctor advised him that surgery to explant the device was necessary.
