LAKE CHARLES, La. - A Louisiana woman has brought a proposed class action against the maker of Darvocet, alleging that her ingestion of the painkiller caused her to suffer a heart attack. Babineaux v. Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc., No. 10-1836 (W.D. La.).
The Dec. 14 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, accuses Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc. of falsely representing to the public that the drug "was safe, effective, fit and proper for its intended use."
