Judge Refuses to Reconsider Ruling in Mirapex Compulsive Gambling Case

MINNEAPOLIS - A federal judge has refused to reconsider his ruling that a lawsuit claiming that Mirapex caused a man to lose millions of dollars to gambling is time-barred under Texas law. In re Mirapex Products Liability Litigation, Nos. 07-MDL-1836 and 10-CV-644 (D. Minn.).
In August, Judge James M. Rosenbaum of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota found that because the plaintiff knew as early as 2005 of a possible link between pathological gambling and the Parkinson's drug, the two-year statute of limitations bars his claims. The judge denied the plaintiff's motion for reconsideration on Sept. 14. …
