New Judge Assigned to Camp Lejeune MDL Proceedings in Georgia




ATLANTA –– The national Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Water Contamination multidistrict litigation docket has been reassigned to Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr., according to a recent order.

The April 1 order released by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia relieves Judge J. Owen Forrester of his duties of overseeing the benzene-related MDL proceedings.

Judge Forrester had overseen the docket since it was created two years ago. In that time, Judge Forrester ruled on a number of motions, including one that denied the United States’ attempts to dismiss the majority of the litigation on statute of …
