MDL Docket Sought for Dickey’s Barbeque Restaurant Data Breach Claims

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Parties affected by a Dickey’s Barbeque Restaurant data security breach have asked the JPML to create a multidistrict litigation docket for the growing number of claims, saying that California is the most appropriate district for coordinated pretrial proceedings, given that residents of that state are believed to have been affected by the data breach more than any other state.

In the Nov. 20 petition filed in the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, the parties stated that lawsuits regarding the breach are currently pending in California and Texas.
