Ga. Court Rejects Challenges to Talcum Powder Plaintiff Experts in Upcoming Trial

ATLANTA –– A Georgia state court slated to oversee the state’s first talcum powder ovarian cancer trial has rejected defense efforts to preclude testimony of three plaintiff expert witnesses, saying the challenges go to the credibility of the testimony, not the admissibility.

In the March 26 order, the Georgia State Court for Fulton County denied motions to exclude the testimony of Drs. James Barter, Laura Plunkett, and John Godleski.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Diane Brower, contending that she developed ovarian cancer as a result of using Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder talcum powder product. Brower allegedly …
