Personal Care Products Council Moves to Dismiss Talcum Powder Claims Pending in Tampa Court

TAMPA, Fla. –– The non-profit trade association Personal Care Products Council has moved to dismiss a talcum powder lawsuit pending in Florida state court, contending that not only does the court not have jurisdiction over the defendant, but that it cannot be held liable for the plaintiff’s injuries under Anti-SLAPP statutes.

In a January motion filed in Florida’s 13th Judicial Circuit Court for Hillsborough County, PCPC maintained that the plaintiff has failed to allege that the defendant “committed a tortious act here or that it manufactures or sells products anywhere.”
