Parties in Missouri Talcum Powder Lawsuit Exchange Briefing on Venue, Forum Non Conveniens, Severance and Jurisdiction

ST. LOUIS –– Parties in a Missouri state court talcum powder lawsuit have exchanged briefing on a number of pending motions, including defense efforts to transfer venue, to dismiss the non-Missouri plaintiffs’ claims under forum non conveniens, to sever, and to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.

The plaintiffs filed oppositions briefs to all the motions on Oct. 24 in the Missouri State Court for St. Louis City.

The underlying suit was filed by 80 plaintiffs, all of whom alleged that they developed ovarian cancer as a result of using the defendants’ talc-based powder products, including Shower-to-Shower and Baby Powder.
