Boston Southern Eatery Says COVID-19 Losses Covered Under Twin Fire Policy

BOSTON — The owner of a Boston southern cuisine restaurant has sued The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. and its subsidiary Twin City Fire Insurance Co. for coverage of business interruption losses it sustained during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a complaint removed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Oct. 19, Dartcom LLC d/b/a Buttermilk & Bourbon contends that government stay-at-home orders issued in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus caused it to lose use of its insured property, triggering coverage under the policy.
