Plaintiffs File for Injunction to Stop Lumber Liquidators Flooring Home-Test Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO — Plaintiffs who sued Lumber Liquidators over allegedly hazardous hardwood flooring installed in their homes have asked a California judge to issue a preliminary injunction prohibiting the company from claiming that its do-it-yourself testing kits accurately measure formaldehyde emissions from the products.
The motion, filed April 8 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, says that the tests distributed by Lumber Liquidators have been deemed scientifically unreliable by a certified industrial hygienist and may falsely lead consumers to believe their floors are safe.
