Calif. Court Denies Lumber Liquidators’ Efforts to Stay All Proceedings in Federal Case

SAN FRANCISCO –– A California court overseeing one of the first Lumber Liquidators Chinese-made flooring suits has denied defense efforts to stay all proceedings in the matter until the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation determines whether to grant a petition to create a coordinated docket for the litigation.
In an April 1 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, opined that a complete stay of all pretrial proceedings would “not promote judicial economy.”
