Travelers Dismisses Suit Against Excalibur Seeking $100,000 for LeBoeuf Claims

HARTFORD, Conn. — Travelers Indemnity Co. has dropped its suit against Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. in which it demanded $100,000 in reinsurance proceeds for underlying malpractice claims brought against the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP.
Travelers filed its notice of voluntary dismissal on Dec. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
According to the Dec. 11 complaint, Travelers’ predecessor obtained an “Accountants, Lawyers, Miscellaneous and Real Estate Errors and Omissions Liability Cessions Treaty” from Excalibur, which covered a policy Travelers had issued to LeBoeuf.
