Minn. Judge Orders Arbitration of Security Life’s Claims Against Southwest Re, Libre

MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota federal judge has sent to arbitration claims brought by Security Life Insurance Company of America against Southwest Reinsure Inc. and its offshore affiliates, ruling that the broad arbitration clause in the reinsurance agreements at issue encompasses the dispute.
On Feb. 11, Chief Judge Michael J. Davis of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota also stayed Security Life’s claims against INA Trust FSB pending the outcome of the arbitration.
