Jury Issues $16.5 Million Verdict for Lincoln General in Premium Dispute

NEW YORK — A New York federal jury has handed down a $16.5 million verdict in favor of Lincoln General Insurance Co. in a reinsurance premium case brought by the reinsurer against managing general agent U.S. Auto Insurance Services Inc. and certain of its subsidiaries.
On Jan. 11 the jury, overseen by Judge Jane J. Boyle of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, found U.S. Auto subsidiaries CSi Agency Services Inc. and Alpha Partners Limited Inc. are liable to Lincoln General for tortious interference of contract. Judge Boyle dismissed the case on Jan. 25.
