NEW YORK - Guy Carpenter & Co. has asked a federal judge to deny a motion to dismiss its suit against Lockton Re seeking $1.852 million in brokerage arising from the placement of property reinsurance contracts for two insurers. Guy Carpenter & Company LLC v. Lockton Re LP, No. 10-4932 (S.D. N.Y.).
In its Sept. 15 opposition filed before Judge Colleen McMahon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Guy Carpenter argues that it has alleged all of the necessary elements for its claims of conversion, tortious interference with contract and unjust enrichment.
