Judge Orders Parties to Proceed Before Original Panel in Allocation Dispute

NEW YORK - In a dispute over the allocation of underlying environmental claims, a New York federal judge has vacated a previous order calling for a new arbitration and ordered the parties to proceed before the original arbitration panel. Insurance Company of North American v. Public Service Mutual Insurance Co., No. 08-7003 (S.D. N.Y.).

In a June 30 order, U.S. District Judge Harold Baer Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York also reinstated John D. Sullivan as a party arbitrator. Sullivan vacated the position in December for health reasons, but has been actively looking …
