Jurors Reach Defense Verdict in Rubber Worker Case

LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Chevron U.S.A., Unocal and Shell Oil in a rubber worker benzene case after deliberating for four days, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting. Molina, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., No. BC367800 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury reached the 9-3 verdict on Nov. 5 after a five-and-a-half week trial.

The underlying claims were asserted by William and Angelina Molina, who contended that William's work as a tool and die maker and general laborer from 1963 to 1980 at Firestone Tire …
