Judge Enters Order Dismissing U.S. Steel in La. Action

BATON ROUGE, La. - In a recent order, a Louisiana federal judge has granted U.S. Steel Corp.'s motion to dismiss a benzene action. Leger, et al. v. Exxon Mobil Corp., et al. No. 06-502 (M.D. La.).

On Aug. 28, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana entered an order of dismissal with prejudice.

Earlier this month, the plaintiffs sought to dismiss U.S. Steel Corp. with prejudice, saying that the disputes between the parties had been resolved.

In July, the federal court granted a similar motion in reference to defendant Safety-Kleen Systems. Radiator Specialty was dismissed …
