GALVESTON, Texas -- Two Texas residents have filed a benzene lawsuit, contending that work as an electrician at several chemical facilities exposed one of the plaintiffs to benzene. McKinney, et al. v. BP Amoco Chemical Co., et al., No. 08cv0014 (Texas 56th Jud. Dist. Ct., Galveston Cty.).

The complaint, filed in January in the Texas 56th Judicial District Court for Galveston County, contends that this exposure led to the plaintiff's development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The claims were asserted by Jeffrey and Julie McKinney, who argue that Jeffrey McKinney was exposed to "dangerous levels" of several carcinogenic chemicals and substances, including …
