LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Several benzene defendants have responded to a plaintiff motion to preclude the opinion that the cause of the plaintiff's acute myelogenous leukemia is idiopathic, arguing that the plaintiff has yet to prove that he was actually exposed to benzene. Johnese, et al. v. Ameron International, et al., No. 4:06-cv-01632-GTE (E.D. Ark.).

In their March 4 response, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the defendants claim that the court cannot grant the motion because the plaintiffs have yet to fulfill their burden of proving exposure to benzene in the first place. …
