BEAUMONT, Texas -- Defendants in a benzene action have opposed the plaintiff's motion to reconsider an order denying a motion to file an amended complaint, saying the court has already rejected the arguments asserted by the plaintiff and that the reconsideration motion is untimely. Strother, et al. v. Goodrich Corp., et al., No. 07-00242 (E. D. Texas).

In an Aug. 10 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, defendants Mallinckrodt and Mallinckrodt Baker also contend that the parallel action plaintiff J. Frances Strother filed in state court is "a manufactured red herring."
