Benzene Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Former Farmer, Rancher

ROSWELL, N.M. -- A new benzene lawsuit has been filed in New Mexico, in which the plaintiff claims that defendants could have reasonably foreseen that their products would cause injury to a former farmer and rancher. Andrews v. U.S. Steel Corp., No. 06-1258 (N.M. 5th Jud. Dist. Ct., Chaves Cty.).

The lawsuit was filed by Connie Lea Gibson Andrews on Dec. 12 in the New Mexico Fifth Judicial District Court for Chaves County contends that the benzene-containing products allegedly used by the decedent were defectively marketed.
