Parties in Tenn. Benzene Case Set for Scheduling Conference

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A scheduling conference in a lawsuit asserted by a Tennessee couple was continued from Oct. 31 to early December, according to the court docket. McCarter, et al. v. Amoco Oil Co., et al., No. 06-141 (E.D. Tenn.).

According to the original Oct. 11 notice of hearing filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the scheduling conference, which will address Rule 26(f) planning and whether mediation is appropriate, will be overseen by Judge Thomas W. Phillips. On Oct. 27, the parties were noticed that the hearing would not take place on Dec. 5.
