Court Denies Motions to Transfer, Dismiss in Benzene Action

TYLER, Texas -- A Texas federal court has denied four motions by Ashland Oil seeking either the transfer or dismissal of a benzene action. Overson, et al. v. Berryman Products, et al., No. 06-114 (E.D. Texas).

In the June 26 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas rejected Ashland's contention that the claims of Rock and Cyndee Overson should be transferred because none of the defendants' corporate offices in the Eastern District of Texas are relevant to the design and manufacture of the products at issue.
