5th Circuit Affirms Dismissal of Oil Exposure Lawsuit Arising out of Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill

NEW ORLEANS –– The 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has affirmed the dismissal of an oil exposure lawsuit arising out of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, finding that the expert testimony proffered by the plaintiff was not admissible.

In the Oct. 12 opinion, the 5th Circuit agreed with the lower court’s finding excluding the testimony, opining that the expert’s conclusions do not “appear to be the product of reliable principles.”
