Jurors Award $72 Million in Talcum Powder Case Against Johnson & Johnson

ST. LOUIS –– Jurors have awarded $72 million at the conclusion of a talcum powder exposure suit filed by the family of a woman who said that 35 years of using the product caused her to develop ovarian cancer.

The Missouri Circuit Court for St. Louis City jury reached the verdict on Feb. 22 after a three-week trial and four hours of deliberations, sources confirmed to HarrisMartin. Defendants Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc. were found liable for product liability (failure to warn), negligence, conspiracy, and wrongful death, according to the verdict sheet.
