Va. Court Affirms Denial of Claim from Firefighter Who Said Exposure to Carcinogens Caused Prostate Cancer

RICHMOND, Va. –– A Virginia appellate court has affirmed the denial of a claim asserted by a former firefighter who contended that his exposure to carcinogens during the course of his employment led him to develop prostate cancer.

In the Aug. 11 opinion, the Virginia Court of Appeals opined that while the claimant had established that he was exposed to carcinogens, he did not provide evidence that these exposures caused, or were suspected to cause, his prostate cancer.
