Benzene Plaintiffs Oppose Motion to Postpone Feb. 2015 Trial, Say Delay Would Be ‘Detrimental’

NEW ORLEANS –– Benzene plaintiffs in Louisiana have opposed a recent motion to continue a February trial, saying that defense counsel was “well aware” of the trial date when he scheduled to take the bar exam.

In the Nov. 25 opposition brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs further argued that since Shell Oil Co. has two law firms and five lawyers representing it in the case, it “certainly has sufficiently experienced trial counsel to handle matters….”
