Philadelphia Court Grants in Part Motions to Compel in Benzene Case

PHILADELPHIA –– A Philadelphia court has granted a number of motions to compel interrogatory answers from benzene plaintiffs, but denied motions with respect to several other questions, including the plaintiff’s symptoms and treatment.

In five separate one-page orders issued Jan. 30, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County ordered the plaintiffs to answer a number of the contested interrogatories.

The court’s orders instruct the plaintiff to respond to all the interrogatories relating to insurance, medical bills and liens and to a partial list of interrogatories relating to wage loss, loss of earning capacity and financial loss. The court …
