NEW ORLEANS –– Four insurance companies have been dismissed from a benzene complaint by way of joint stipulations of dismissal, shortly after the insurers had noted in a motion to dismiss that the insured was no longer a party in the action.

In an Aug. 2 order, the District Court denied motions to dismiss filed by American Insurance Company and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. as moot, noting that the plaintiffs had dismissed the claims against these two defendants.
