Jury Finds for Sherwin-Williams, PPG Industries at End of Benzene Trial

JENA, La. –– A Louisiana jury has reached a unanimous verdict in favor of two benzene defendants in a case involving solvents in automotive paints, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting. McCann, et al. v. The Sherwin-Williams Co., et al., No. 33,871 (La. Cir. Ct. LaSalle Prsh.).
The Louisiana District Court for LaSalle Parish jury reached the 12-0 verdict earlier today. Judge Christopher Peters presided over the trial.
The plaintiffs claimed that Dorsey McCann was exposed to benzene-containing automotive refinish paints manufactured by the two remaining defendants, Sherwin-Williams and PPG Industries. McCann worked as an auto body repairman for more than 30 …
