Louisiana Court Dismisses Some Claims, Finds Expert Testimony Sufficient

NEW ORLEANS -- The federal court overseeing a benzene case in Louisiana has issued a ruling addressing a number of motions relating to the sufficiency of claims and expert testimony, dismissing some claims asserted against the defendants but finding that expert testimony on both sides satisfies admissibility standards. Wagoner, et al. v. Exxon Mobil Corp., et al., No. 09-7257 (E.D. La.).

In the 71-page order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana addressed 12 pending motions. The order leaves negligence and wantonness claims against Radiator Specialty and warning defect and design defect against ExxonMobil.
