NEW ORLEANS -- All remaining parties in a Louisiana benzene action have reached settlement agreements weeks prior to a scheduled Aug. 17 trial, sources told HarrisMartin. Bishop, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 07-2832 (E.D. La.).
In a minute entry filed July 29, U.S. Magistrate Judge Alma L. Chasez noted that in a settlement conference, plaintiffs resolved claims against Murphy Oil USA Inc., El Paso Energy E.S.T. Co. and Radiator Specialty Co.
Since that filing, the remaining defendants, which included Shell Oil Co., Shell Chemical LP and Marathon Oil Co., reached confidential settlement agreements, sources said. …
