Resolution Reached in Calif. Benzene Cases Scheduled for July Trial

LOS ANGELES -- Parties in two California benzene cases that were scheduled for a July trial have reached settlement agreements, sources told HarrisMartin. Thorpe, et al. v. Safety-Kleen, No. BC348287 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The cases were slated to begin jury selection on July 8 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court prior to the resolution.

Earlier this year, Judge Emilie H. Elias ruled on several in limine motions filed by the parties, excluding some testimony in full and ordering further preliminary hearings on other testimony.
