SAN FRANCISCO -- An amicus group has filed a brief supporting asbestos defendant Foster Wheeler in its fight to have the California Supreme Court reverse a decision addressing a choice of law dispute. McCann v. Foster Wheeler, No. S162435 (Calif. Sup. Ct.).
Saying they represent California and Oklahoma companies that are often named in asbestos lawsuits, the amici urge the court in a Sept. 12 brief to reverse the appellate court decision that concluded Oklahoma's statute of repose did not preclude a plaintiff's asbestos claims.
