Order in Consolidated Bankruptcy Proceedings Lays Ground Rules for Document Preservation, Motions Opposing Friction Defendant Transfers




WILMINGTON, Del. - The federal judge assigned to oversee the consolidated bankruptcy proceedings of five asbestos defendants that filed for Chapter 11 reorganization has issued his first case management order.

In a Dec. 21 order that followed the first case management conference organized since the bankruptcy cases were consolidated in late November, Judge Alfred M. Wolin set guidelines for the preservation of the debtors' asbestos-related documents and for the filing of motions in opposition to the friction defendants' removal and transfer of asbestos cases to Delaware bankruptcy court.
