Group Seeks Reversal of Decision that Could Make Ohio 'Hotbed' of Litigation

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An amicus group has filed a brief in the Ohio Supreme Court expressing its support of supplier defendants throughout the state who could be held strictly liable for products it distributed before 1977 as a result of a recent change in Ohio case law. Dicenzo, et al. v. A-Best Products Co., Inc., et al., No. 07-1628 (Ohio Sup. Ct.).

The Feb. 22 brief contends that the Eighth Appellate District Court re-wrote Ohio law when it decided to recognize strict liability claims against supplier defendants who were involved with the distribution of products prior to 1977.
