Texas Judge Dismisses Case on Forum Grounds Weeks Prior to Trial

HOUSTON -- The judge overseeing the Texas Asbestos MDL has granted a motion to dismiss an asbestos case on forum non conveniens grounds, rejecting the plaintiffs' pleas to maintain jurisdiction since it was scheduled for a February trial and has been pending for more than four years. Price, et al. v. Alfa Laval Inc., et al., No. 2004-07960 (Texas 11th Dist. Ct., Harris Cty.).
