Asbestos Worker Sues Attorneys, Says He Doesn't Owe Union-Negotiated Fee

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - An army depot employee who was part of a $75 million asbestos exposure settlement has sued his attorney claiming he doesn't have to pay fees associated with the agreement. Salgado v. Gray & Becker, No. C-01-307 (S.D. Texas).

In an amended class complaint filed Nov. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Texas, John Salgado claims he never signed off on the 33 percent contingency fee owed to attorneys who negotiated the $75 million deal on behalf of the Corpus Christi Army Depot employees.
